Welcome to the ETJ Kyoto Official Website.

We are a group of English teachers and school owners in and around the Kyoto area. Come join us for one of our local meetings, held bi-monthly, to learn new ideas for teaching children English in Japan. We have great presentations as well as time for everyone to share ideas, ask questions and network with others in the English-teaching world. We are a local chapter of the not for profit national group English Teachers in Japan (ETJ).

Date: Sunday, September 11th, 2011. 2:50pm - 5:00pm

Join us for an afternoon of exploration and discussion.  Open participation will be encouraged.

Coming up in 2011

ETJ EXPO 2011 - October 16th, 2011. Osaka

Our last meeting

Sunday, March 6th, 2011 (2:00pm - 4pm)

Eric Kane & Daniel Mills from ELF Learning gave us an exciting and informative presentation on "Technology (New & Old) and Websites in your classroom"

The first session was dedicated to website design and different platforms for different budgets and skill levels. The second looked at "old" technology (CDs, videos, internet ...) and newer, exciting possibilities available now or just around the corner.

Eric Kane owns two schools in Shiga Prefecture and has been an active
presenter in ETJ for many years.  In addition to doing extensive work with
videos and music, he also knows a bit about website design, content and
possibilities.

Daniel Mills has been teaching in Japan now for 6 years and is currently
Adult Curriculum Director at E English House.  He will be taking a position
at Ritsumeikan University this April while pursuing his PhD in
Instructional Technology.
